Frozen margarita recipe

The perfect cocktail for warm summer nights.

This frozen margarita recipe is a twist on the classic recipe for margarita and is a real party starter. First, you salt the glasses by rubbing a lime slice along the glass rims and dipping them in salt. Use sophisticated cocktail glasses to make them extra special. Then you blitz up apple juice, fresh cucumber, tequila, Cointreau, lime rind, lime juice and ice in a food processor until it’s nice and smooth. Then it’s just a matter of pouring the drinks and topping them with a garnish of micro lemon balm. It’s perfect for hot summer nights and can be shared with five of your favourite people. All you need to do is add nibbles and you have yourself a party.

Pair them with canapes or, for something more substantial, serve them up with tacos. If you’d like to try your hand at more cocktails, you could also whip up cocktails from these cocktail recipes.

Ingredients

Method

1.

Place salt on a plate. Run the cut side of the halved lime around the rims of serving glasses. Dip in the salt to coat. Set aside.

2.

Place apple juice, cucumber, tequila, Cointreau, lime rind, lime juice and ice in a food processor and blend until smooth.

3.

Pour evenly between glasses. Serve with apple and lemon balm.

You can freeze the apple juice into ice cubes and use them instead of ice for a more intense apple flavour hit!
