If there’s ever a beach house we want to stay in, it’s one created by fashion designer Collette Dinnigan. As if the ocean views aren’t enough, the interiors of Collette and husband Bradley Cocks’ house overlooking North Rosedale Beach on the NSW coast are achingly chic.
Rebuilt after the 2019 bushfires took it down, it’s a luxurious retreat with a breathtaking outlook from the open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, and main bedroom.
The stylish Aussie designer announced via Instagram that the family will be renting out the property through The Oaks Ranch before listing the home for sale. Take a look inside below and see the listing here.
This magnificent property was recently listed on the market, reportedly for between $3.9 million and $4.2 million, and quickly sold at the end of November 2023. Given its popularity as a must-visit destination in its short time as a rental, we hope it remains available as holiday accommodation with the new owners. Watch this space.
NEWS FLASH:
The kitchen
Designed and decorated by Collette Dinnigan herself, the abode boasts her signature timelessly elegant style with a touch of bohemian. The kitchen features hand-built Italian marble benchtops with a large Fhiaba fridge, a second Fhiaba wine/prosciutto fridge, double Ilve oven with gas cooktops and a Zip water station.
The living and dining area
The house is ideal for entertaining, with an open layout that flows out to the deck. The living room has a gas fireplace to keep it toasty even in the cooler months. A projector with surround sound indoors and outdoors is the ultimate spot to kick back and relax.
The ocean outlook
You couldn’t get a more picturesque view than the one from the dining area in the fashion designer’s beautiful home. It looks out to Jimmy’s Island, with amazing sunrises and you might even spot a whale emerging from the water if the season is right.
The bedrooms
The four bedrooms at Rosedale Beach House are tastefully styled and offer a nod to the coastal setting. Framed maps, lovely lighting, pretty florals and plenty of white make for a serene atmosphere. It’s a lesson in how coastal styling can be done in a restrained way.
The bathrooms
The home has three bathrooms that are light and bright with plenty of detail and texture in the glorious choice of tiles and towels. Flowers dotted throughout the home bring nature inside and are a reminder that the beauty of Australia’s best landscapes is at the doorstep.
The outdoor entertaining area
Designed with outdoor living in mind, the cooking zone is a masterpiece made from recycled bricks and rustic wood. It sits alongside an outdoor dining table in the private, spacious entertaining area.
Rosedale Beach House is designed to be 95 per cent off grid, with a Tesla Powerwall and EV charging point for two cars. An outdoor copper rain shower is the perfect place to rinse off after a swim or surf.
Just under a four-hour drive from Sydney, it’s a tranquil getaway destination that’s doable over a weekend. With views like this, just try to drag yourself away.
