Coastal living: a family home

An expansive living room is at the heart of this coastal-flavoured home in Victoria, with a grey ‘Frankie’ four-seater sofa from Fanuli Furniture adorned with sheepskins from Ikea and Adairs, geometric cushions from Lucky Boy Sunday and Big Chair Living, and a tie-dyed throw from Ines Cole in the UK (try Shibori for similar). Keeping with the simple and elegant colour palette, the room features grey bed linen and cushions from H&M Home, Wowhaus, Lekka, a pop-up shop in London, and Habitat. 

The balcony off the main bedroom makes a beautiful sundeck in summer, but is made homey for cooler weather with bamboo chairs from Tingo, dressed with a throw from Greedilulu and round Wowhaus cushion. Plant pots from Loft By Ourlieu and Bunnings, a Barefoot Gypsy floor cushion from Greedilulu and Ikea lights help to dress the space.

The Laura Ashley bed is dressed in Feliz Home ‘Sprinkle Sprinkle’ linen, while adding more colour is a ‘Sweet’ print from Dandy Star in the UK, an ‘Acapulco’ chair from Big Chair in Mornington, pretty bunting and a pink floral cushion from the French Petit Pan, plus a Freedom throw. The rug is from The Dusty Poppy.

In the bathroom, a sink and vanity from Ikea’s ‘Godmorgon’ range, customised with plywood on the front to break up the white, and topped with a tap from Swan Plumbing Supplies, becomes a storage-packed focal point.
